1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Steve (the “Service”, at meandsteve.com), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Steve Does

Steve sends your question to several third-party AI models (currently ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok), has them critique one another's responses, and produces a synthesised summary (“Steve's Read”). Steve is a tool for comparing AI responses — it does not itself author or verify the answers.

3. AI-Generated Content

  • All answers, critiques, and summaries are generated automatically by AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or out of date.
  • The Service does not provide professional advice. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, financial, or other professional decisions without independent verification.
  • You are responsible for how you use any output, and you should independently verify anything important before acting on it.

4. Use of the Service

  • You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes.
  • You must not submit unlawful, harmful, or abusive content, or attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, overload, or otherwise misuse the Service.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Accounts & Subscriptions

Accounts are created and secured through our authentication provider (Clerk); you are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe. New accounts include a limited one-time allowance of free questions. Premium is an optional paid subscription that provides a larger monthly allowance, billed and renewed through our payment provider (Stripe). You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Current limits and pricing are shown on the billing page.

6. Third-Party Services

To provide the Service, the text of your questions is sent to third-party AI providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI) for processing, and account and payment data is handled by Clerk and Stripe respectively. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms and privacy practices.

7. Intellectual Property

The Steve name, branding, and the code and design of the Service are owned by or licensed to us, and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written permission. AI-generated outputs are provided for your own use subject to the terms of the underlying model providers.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no guarantees about availability, reliability, accuracy, or suitability for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages, losses, or issues resulting from the use of, reliance on, or inability to use the Service or its output.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
